QSLSC Strategic Objectives, 2025-2028 – draft.
Your input and suggestions needed!

All members are encouraged to contribute to the future planning of the club’s
direction and approach in fulfilling its primary purpose, i.e. surf lifesaving and
ensuring the success and sustainability of the club through our member’s on-going
commitment and enjoyment.  The following draft “plan on a page” is headed by a
statement of purpose and guiding principle followed by strategic objectives.  With
your input, this will provide direction, focus, and a framework for tracking progress
and making informed decisions in the future.

The draft should make it clear we believe that the Club will position itself to be
successful in all endeavours of surf life saving.  The objective for example is not to be
the best surf life saving club at surf sports or have more Nippers than any other club.
Whilst some clubs strive to be the champion surf life saving sports club, our Club
objective is to be balanced and the best we can across all facets of surf life saving.
You will note the plan re-iterates the club’s long-standing tag of “One Club, One
Direction, One Future” which is to say we are all one, focused as one on all aspects
of surf life saving.

Just in case you are wondering, yes there is detail behind the “plan on a page” which
is not included in the draft.  The detail includes the objectives and key success
measures for each of the Club’s key focus areas, i.e. surf life saving services; surf life saving education and training; surf life saving sports (lifesaving, swim, board, ski, beach, boats, and IRBs); Nippers and junior development; member services; general activities including club facilities operation and development; club
membership inclusivity and diversity and sponsorships and grants.

Finally, it is recognised by the Board that a strategic plan is not to be set in concrete
and followed with dogmatic focus.  A good plan sets direction, and at the same time
ensures sustainability enabled by the ability to respond to change.

Queenscliff Club Board members invite your comment and contribution to the
development and finalisation of the strategic plan.  Your input will be most welcomed
and will be responded to. Please send your comments to
