Member Award and Recognition

Surf Life Saving values the contributions made by our members there are Service Awards available to apply for.

Recognises members’ long service to lifesaving patrols.

Available to members who have completed 100% patrol service relevant to their membership category for that season, with a minimum of 16 hours being completed per season.

5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50

Award prize

Certificate, then Pin (from 10 yrs onwards)

Application process

Members or club officials submit an application electronically through the Forms section of the SLS Members Area. If SurfGuard does not show full patrol hours, please submit supporting document

Recognises long service in organisations that protect life and property at some risk to their members.

Available to members who have been proficient in SLSA Bronze Medallion each season, with a minimum of 30 hours of service each season, over a period of at least 15 seasons.

15, 25, 35, 45, 55, 65, 75

Award prize

Medallion, then Clasp (from 25 yrs onwards)

Application process

Members or club officials
can submit an application electronically through the Forms section of the SLS Members Area.  Hours of service can be amalgamated with hours completed with other organisations. Applications aredue16 March & 16 August each year for endorsement by SLSNSW, who will then send the endorsed application to SLSA. If applying for 25 years & over, they will need to submit supporting proof within the application.

Recognises members’ sustained contribution to SLS.

Available to members to recognise 25 years or more of membership of SLSA, starting from when eligible to obtain SRC.

Years of service can be aggregated.
