Lest We Forget

On Saturday, November 11 at 11 AM, Queenscliff Surf Lifesaving Club were represented at the Northern Beaches Remembrance Day Memorial Service.   The service was held at the War Memorial in the Corso in Manly.   It was attended by many local organisations including James Griffin, Member for Manly, Sue Heins, Mayor of the Northern Beaches Council and several other Councillors.   The club was invited to lay a wreath at the base of the memorial, along with Manly Life saving Club.

We had many members of our club experience war and pay the ultimate sacrifice.   These names are displayed through the foyers of the club.

Remembrance Day commemorates the Armistice which formally ended the Great War, later to be known as World War 1, the ceasefire taking effect at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month.

Lest We Forget.
