Volunteer of the Month – November 2020

Spotlight on Our Volunteer of the Month – November – Alan Butler

Alan is awesome and he has been recognised for his management and implementation of the Queenscliff Building Project masterplan which was developed in 2012 with the Building Committee as its Chairperson and Building Works Manager.   Alan is still the Building Works Manager and to this day his endurance with a long process has paid off with the final Council approval granted on 24 November 2020.  This is the biggest building project undertaken since the new Club was constructed in 1983.

The Masterplan was developed to ensure appropriate future alterations/additions to the Club to accommodate its members and provide lifesaving support on Queenscliff Beach for the community.  Alan Butler together with building committee members Craig Susans and Ken Prior have continued with the project and laboured considerably over significant additional modifications along the way.  The Building Committee now has the task of managing our Club through the construction into 2021 which is another huge effort to bring us a Club we can all enjoy using.

Thank you and congratulations Alan for your dedication and support in making this happen.
